Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death in Oklahoma for people ages 15-20 Years old. 1/4 teens respond to a text message once or more every time they drive. 20% of teens and 10% of parents admit that they have extended, multi-message text conversations while driving. (UMTRI) Texting while driving is as dangerous as drinking and driving when it comes to inhibiting a teen's driving ability. In 2013, 3,154 people were killed in motor vehicle crashes involving distracted drivers and approximately 424,000 people were injured.

Are you planning to attend one of the LEAD Meetings this September? The Oklahoma Challenge Conferences will be held in the afternoon AFTER the LEAD meetings. LEAD meetings are from 9:30am – 12:30pm and the Oklahoma Challenge conference is from 12:30pm – 4pm.  

Extend your day for an afternoon of fun, interactive leadership training designed to help you reduce distracted driving in your school and community. Attending teams will be given tools and motivation to develop plans of action for immediate implementation! Participating teams will be invited to submit documentation of their activities to the Oklahoma Challenge Awards Program, May 2017, for recognition of their good work.  Plan NOW to join us and SAVE LIVES!
