Safe Kids Oklahoma - Spot the Tot
Sixteen Oklahoma children ages 1-4 were killed in a frontovers and backovers from 2016-2018. Spot the Tot helps families and children visualize how far behind a car a child has to be to be seen. Frontovers and backovers are 100% preventable.
Host an event at the local elementary school, church or community center.
Set up a drive through area of the parking lot for families to pull up and participate in the event.
Parents will pull up to have the Spot the Tot mat directly behind their vehicle.
Turn off car with keys on dashboard. Have their child stand behind the vehicle on the spots until the driver can see them in both their side and rear view mirror.
We can provide a mat, bubbles and a bubble machine to encourage participation from the children.
If a child is not available for the spot the mat activity have a yard stick available to represent the height of an average 5 year old.

Take photos/video of students participating in the activity.

Fill out the online submission COMPLETELY
Enter the name and email of the submitter
Upload your photos/video and a brief description of the activity (including the date of completion and any people pictured in the photo).
Schools must take new photos with and submit these pictures to earn points again for the current year.
We will be updating the Leaderboard weekly. Please have patience if your points do not show immediately.

Safe Kids Oklahoma hosts safety events, conduct workshops in everything from schools to hospitals, advocates for effective legislation, and distributes safety devises such as car seats, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, helmets, and personal floatation devises.
